Suunto X6M begins a new product line of Suunto wristop computers. Suunto X6M is a perfect tool for any cross sports enthusiast such as a mountaineer, hiker or a cross-country skier. It offers a combination of three functional dimensions:
it gives the user essential information instantly during the
performance. A level of deeper understanding comes with the PC
interface. It also opens a door to an Internet community where cross
sports enthusiasts worldwide can share and acquire information with and
from other users of Suunto’s latest wristop computer generation.
Know your training. With
advanced timing functions of the stopwatch you are able to record lap
and split times of your activity. Chronometer memory records accurate
altitude profile with 10 or 60 seconds interval. This is ideal for fast
sports. Adjustable alarm works as an interval reminder. Accurate
altimeter (1 meter resolution) makes it possible to measure
the vertical performance when jogging, hiking, biking, wandering,
climbing etc. Know your
environment. Knowing important factors of the surrounding
terrain, such as
altitude, ascent/descent rate, compass bearing, weather trends,
barometric pressure, and degree of slope offer new ways to get more out
of the experience. Remember
safety. Carrying a compass along is more than practical:
it gives safety on a
hike and guides you back when jogging in an unknown place or just
touring in a foreign city. Barometer with a 2-day memory function
and with a barometric graph helps you to forecast weather
changes. The storm alarm warns you when barometric pressure is
falling quickly. Programmable ascent alarm helps to keep safe
climbing speed on the mountains.
DEEPER UNDERSTANDING
Suunto Activity Manager (SAM) is software that enables deeper
understanding of the recorded data. With SAM you can visualize the
altitude profiles for your routes, analyze and plan your training and
keep a training diary. You can also create your own activity reports by
adding photos and text to the profiles.
CROSS SPORTS COMMUNITY AT SUUNTOSPORTS.COM
Suuntosports.com is a new Internet site where all endurance sport
enthusiasts can meet each other and find and share information and tips
for their activities. Suuntosports.com adds the third dimension to the
possibilities of Suunto X6M since users can upload data from SAM to the
Internet in order to compare their performance with that of others - or
just to share the experiences of hikes and training sessions with
friends or even with the whole world.
